Why 22K matters
Most jewelry sold in the United States is 14K or 18K, meaning it is 58.3% or 75% pure gold. Traditional South Asian jewelry is 22K, which is 91.6% pure. The difference is immediately visible: 22K has a warmer, richer colour, and you are buying substantially more gold per gram.
We stock 22K because it is what our customers grew up with, and because it is what a wedding set should be.
No making charges
Making charges are the labour markup jewelers add on top of the gold weight, usually 10 to 25%. On a bridal set that can be well over a thousand dollars you rarely see broken out on the receipt.
We do not charge them on our no making charges collection. You pay the gold rate for the weight, plus a flat markup we will show you at the counter. Ask us to weigh anything in the case and walk you through the math.
